Modern Bannerstand Designs Give Marketers New Options

If there's one time-tested staple of any marketing event, it's the bannerstand. Businesses have been using these versatile and cost effective tools for years to promote their products and provide valuable visual appeal at tradeshows and conventions in every industry imaginable. The advent of the retractable stand made their use even more convenient, combining signage and storage in one easy-to-transport, simple-to-assemble package. But in recent years, display designers have been hard at work reinventing this marketing powerhouse and breathing new life into the visual backbone of many advertising plans. No longer just a glorified sign on a stick, bannerstands have come a long way and innovations are providing companies with a host of unique display possibilities.

Not Just A Flat Sign Anymore

In the same vein as retractable models, double-sided bannerstand designs have allowed modern marketers to incorporate them in new ways. No longer relegated to a backdrop, the banner has moved out onto the show floor to be incorporated as a divider or entrance marquee. New advancements in support technology and materials now even allow for linear displays to be easily converted to achieve curves. While many early designs were small, stand-alone graphics, it's common now to see stands engineered to combine multiple panels into large backdrops. Many of these advanced features would have been too expensive and far too cumbersome to be practical for most businesses just a few years ago.

The Changing Face Of The Modern Bannerstand

While the traditional banner and stand is still a prominent feature of nearly every marketing event, many barely resemble their cookie cutter predecessors. Layered signs with multiple, interchangeable graphics allow for much more dynamic, three dimensional imagery that can be easily customized for a given event, or swapped out regularly during a show. The layered design allows for multiple combinations of foreground and background graphics, giving a single display the ability to be used for multiple products, events or purposes. Adjusting to various sizes, and able to accommodate a variety of graphics, these new advancements mean that a high-quality banner display is no longer a one trick pony and can be adapted to the needs of nearly any situation.

More Than Just Advertising Graphics

Marketing materials are most valuable when they can accomplish multiple goals. While the overt aim of any quality sign is to attract and inform, modern displays incorporate lighting and merchandising attachments to highlight products, provide samples or offer literature to guests. Lighting features that are easy to attach and adjust can add drama to a tradeshow booth or draw attention to a particular area. Modern merchandising designs can incorporate product displays or allow for distribution of pamphlets or brochures, freeing up personnel and allowing for direct guest interaction. Marketing teams have always viewed the bannerstand as a great way to get the most out of their budget, but now that many designs are able to pull double duty, these simple but effective advertising tools are becoming invaluable to businesses who are able to use them to their full potential.
